Marching Towards My Next Goal Post
The Determined Writer
As we get closer to spring, I naturally have started thinking about the second quarter of the year and I begin to analyze whether or not I got all that I wanted to accomplish in quarter one achieved. With me, because I tend to always set damn near impossible goals, I typically end up disappointing myself. It’s not that the goals themselves are impossible, it’s just the number of goals I set seems to be overboard, but I just can’t seem to reduce the size of my list, so it is what it is.
I have a book that I’m releasing in the second quarter of this year and will hopefully be prepping another book to release sometime in the third quarter and the level of nervousness I feel is irrational. It’s not as if this is the first book I’m publishing, why the hell am I nervous. I know that I’m a good writer (most days anyway) so why am I feeling anxious about people liking my book. I don’t think that I’m the only writer that still gets nervous and worried about how our book babies will be perceived once they are out into the world. At least I hope I’m not the only one.
Anywho, for March I have managed to stay ahead on the main deadline that I have which pertains to my upcoming release of When Love Calls (which is releasing on June 10th) but have fallen behind on other deadlines. The Pen Name series is officially behind schedule and completely off track for a release date that falls within this year, but I’m not completely upset about it. It just gives me more time to properly roll things out for that pen name in a way that isn’t rushed, therefore it won’t be something that I will wonder down the road, if it would have done better with more time.
My Patreon story is another thing that’s a bit off track right now, but I am hoping that after When Love Calls releases, I can course correct and get that one more in line. I also plan to get back to writing my mystery book, the fifth Mackenzie Brown book and I think I’m planning some interesting things for that series next year, but more about that in a future newsletter.
Well, I suppose that’s all for now. I’m feeling really good about my book coming out (in terms of the story I’m telling—still got nerves though lol). Now if I could just get the hang of this marketing thing so that it can reach as many people as possible. I’m working on it. So, I want to know what you guys are all up to. Who’s releasing books soon and where can I find them so that I can shout them out? I would love to support you guys as much as you all have been here to support me. I hope you all are doing well in your projects and creative endeavors and that you’re taking care of yourselves. Happy writing everyone!

What I’ve Been Reading
I am nearly finished up with the ARC of Mother Mercy by Chandra Aurthur, an Inimitable Books author and it will be out on March 31st! So far it is a really intriguing read and has just the kinds of twists and turns I look forward to when reading a thriller.

Bookish Things!!!

I hope that you will give my books a try and that you’ll love them as much as I loved writing them.
And as you know, my next release, When Love Calls, will be releasing on June 10th of this year and I’ve shared the blurb with you below so you can learn a little more about it…
The one thing Autumn Jennings has never lacked in her life was drama. The more she tries to steady the chaos around her, the more things seem to spiral out of control. Now that she’s settling down with a man who loves both her and her son, she’s finally found stability, even if she’s not sure she deserves it.
Then he comes back!
Bryant Hudson is the one man she’s never gotten over, and his return unearths a Pandora’s box of secrets. Every mistake in Autumn’s past is coming back to haunt her, making her question herself and the life she has settled into. Could this be their second chance to get things right? Or will it be ruined once her lies are exposed?
As secrets surface, relationships crumble, and Autumn must decide whether to keep running from a past she thought was buried or face things head on: even if it means losing the convenience she’s grown so accustomed to.
WHEN LOVE CALLS is an emotional, dramatic, contemporary novel about the price we pay for the secrets we keep, the mistakes we make when we fail to see how worthy we are, and the bittersweet journey to find healing within oneself.
